WHATEVER YOU'RE NARRATING
Audiobooks
Audiobooks mean hours of continuous reading from a single manuscript. Word Search and chapter navigation exist for exactly that scale, finding your place after a break, or a character's last line from three chapters back, without losing momentum in a book that long.

WHY IT HELPS
Built for long-form narration
Recording over a few days or a few weeks? Have a long manuscript to record? ReTake opens your saved projects in the same place as when you closed the project, with everything saved, just as you left it. No need to reorganize your workflow each time.
Studio and Daytime display presets were made to help combat eye fatigue that long sessions produce. To make the manuscript readable in a dim studio or a bright room, without the glare or strain that makes a six hour session more demanding than a one hour session.
The visual design was developed through research into typography, colour, contrast and screen readability, with particular attention to the demands of extended reading and viewing. As a result of this research, we created two dedicated display presets: Studio and Daytime which provide different visual environments for darker studio conditions and brighter daytime surroundings. These can be used as starting points or customised to suit your own workspace and preferences. The result is a deliberately restrained interface that keeps distractions to a minimum and helps you stay focused on the words without straining your eyes.
For a book full of different characters, keeping track of voices, staying consistent across chapters without relying on memory can be challenging enough. Using custom, colour-coded character cards helps that problem.
Room Tone and level monitoring support the kind of audio consistency a full-length audiobook needs across dozens of sessions, not just one sitting.
